Title: Packer/Inspector Location: WI-Oshkosh
Inspection and packaging of all finished goods.
Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment; following all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures, policies and programs; attending required training; identifying and reporting hazards; wearing all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements; and is accountable for self as well as co-workers safety.
Loads raw material at set-up/unloads at end of run.
Assists operator with set-up per work instructions and procedures to ensure quality.
Performs inspections of products as it comes off the machine per procedures and work instructions to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Looks for defects that prevent the product from meeting customer specifications; measure critical areas of product for conformance to specification.
Assist with testing to guarantee quality products, collects samples when required
Prepares packaging and labels for production needs per procedures and work instructions.
Performs packaging per procedure and work instructions.
Assists operator when necessary with the movement of completed skids to release area
Assists with IPPH's and documentation to ensure quality products.
Notifies machine operator of any variances or problems and covers during breaks to maintain continuous production.
At end of run, returns un-used inventory (boxes, rolls, etc.) per procedures and work instructions.
Learns and applies how to set-up, document runs, and troubleshooting machines and be a reliable back-up operator during absences to maintain continuous production. Alternates with operator to run machines thru breaks and lunch.
Keeps the packing area clean, neat and orderly such as but not limited to putting away boxes, bags, tape, tape guns, dies, and other items when not in use to maximize efficiency.
Follows the cleaning guidelines per 6S procedures.
Participates in and supports World Class Operations Management (WCOM) teams
Performs job duties in a safe manner.
If machine is down, asks Shift Supervisor or Lead Person if there is other work available.
Performs other projects/duties as assigned.
Basic math, reading and measurement skills.
Knowledge of procedures, work instructions and associated forms as required by the Key Area Leader.
Good communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal.
Attention to detail.
Required to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous manufacturing/production experience is a plus.
