Affordable Housing Qualifications/Skills Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Strong Knowledge in HUD programs, Public Housing, LIHTC, HOME, Section 8, property management, and auditing, TWO (2) years' experience auditing HUD/Tax Credit, PBRA programs preferred.
One (1) Industry Certification a Bonus Familiarity with MRI (HAB) software a plus Ability to navigate difficult situations.
Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
High attention to detail Independent, motivated, and resourceful Computer software applications knowledge and Microsoft suite skills Our Ideal Candidate would be someone with experience in the industry and who would be passionate about working with our clients to ensure compliance with resident files, regulatory agreements, waiting lists, policies, and procedures and with site staff.
Responsibilities The Compliance Manager is responsible for the oversight of compliance staff, to ensure accurate and timely completion of all compliance documentation.
Conduct Audits to ensure compliance with resident files with Tax Credit (LIHTC), HUD, Fair Housing.
Continually maintain a technical understanding of compliance requirements for various affordable housing programs, including, Tax Credits (LIHTC), HOME, HUD Public Housing, HUD Section 8, and PBRA Developments, and other local, state, and federal housing programs Research and interpret ongoing Program changes, regulation updates.
Review of current Tenant Selection Plans to identify needed updates.
In coordination with the Executive Director, oversee the roll-out of the annual income/rent limit changes.
Manage the annual utility allowance analysis for those properties that utilize an average UA.
Review and process internal and external documents to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Oversee timely submission of reports to state and federal monitoring agencies and approve written responses to questions about these reports.
Coordinate Compliance training of Property Staff and New Hires Plan and monitor continuing education programs for all compliance personnel.
All other duties as assigned.
