Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.
Parent Connection, a comprehensive home visitation and child abuse prevention program, has an opening for a Family Support Specialist/Family Resource Specialist working 40 hours a week.
The Family Resource Specialist portion of this position assesses the strengths and needs of pregnant women and families with infants, determines service needs and provides information, connections and linkages to a continuum of community services based on strengths and need.
They receive general family and social histories from parents to provide referral information while meeting with them at one of the following hospitals:
Aurora and Ascension Mercy in Oshkosh and Theda Care Neenah as well as assessments from other referring entities.
The Family Support Specialist portion of this position establishes a trusting relationship with overburdened families by delivering service that is culturally competent, strength-based, family centered, and family directed through home visitation.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in human services or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum experiences include up to two years' experience in the field of early childhood education, maternal/child health, family life education, home visitation, or related human services field.
Strong interpersonal skills are needed for this position as are knowledge of community resources.
Candidates must be able to work with a diverse population in ways that are culturally competent, non-judgmental, supportive, and empowering; the ideal candidate will be flexible.
Home visitation experience is a plus.
A driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
